Our First Aid Stick and Ointment are customer favorites, and for good reason. Containing 100% natural ingredients, these products are effective alternatives to first aid products made with synthetic chemical ingredients. The First Aid Stick and Ointment are intended for use on cuts, scrapes, minor burns, sunburns, rashes, diaper rash, stretch marks, insect bites and stings, and more! The First Aid Stick and First Aid Ointment are loaded with carefully-selected ingredients that promote and speed healing.
For example, calendula oil supports the skin’s natural ability to heal itself. It also has strong anti-inflammatory properties and is especially useful for relieving inflamed and itchy skin conditions, including eczema, rashes, diaper rash, and some wounds. It is excellent for severely chapped or dry skin as well. (We also use calendula oil in our Aloe & Calendula Cream, another product that helps soothe itchy, irritated, and/or severely dry skin).
Olive oil is an excellent source of monounsaturated fats, which have natural anti-inflammatory properties. Olive oil also provides vitamins A and E and polyphenols. These nutrients can help repair damage to the skin caused by environmental pollutants and exposure to the sun. Olive oil also has a mild SPF, so it can provide light, short-term protection from the sun. (Olive oil is the star of our Olive Oil Lotion, a light moisturizer that can be used all over.)
Sunflower seed oil is very high in essential fatty acids, so it helps smooth rough and dry skin. It helps regenerate and condition the skin and is especially good for mature, sensitive, and damaged skin. Sunflower seed oil’s high lipid content strengthens the function of skin as a barrier.
Sea buckthorn oil contains potent antioxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin E, and several other tocopherols. This oil is effective in fighting the appearance of wrinkles and various symptoms of dry and aging skin. It also promotes healing of burns, eczema, and small cuts. While this amazing oil has been used topically and internally for thousands of years, it has only recently begun to be noticed by western medicine and holistic health professionals. Sea buckthorn oil has many beneficial uses, making it a fantastic ingredient choice.
Shea butter is an excellent moisturizer and can also help treat minor skin wounds and irritations. It also contains antioxidants that help heal damage caused by exposure to environmental toxins and the sun’s rays. Shea butter is a good source of vitamin A, a nutrient that can help address conditions such as blemishes, wrinkles, and dermatitis.
Tamanu oil is obtained by crushing the dried nuts of the tamanu tree, which is native to the Pacific and Asian tropical regions. It is known for its wound-healing properties and its ability to treat many skin problems. Tamanu oil helps modulate inflammation, making it useful for the treatment of insect bites, eczema, and other inflammatory skin conditions. Tamanu oil also helps to regenerate skin cells and has a hydrating effect on the skin.
Rosehip seed oil contains high levels of vitamins A and E as well as essential fatty acids, which support collagen and elastin production. Collagen is a protein that gives structure to the skin (and to muscles, bones, and tendons, too); elastin is a protein with elastic qualities that helps the skin return to it’s original shape after being stretched or pressed upon. Rosehip seed oil is wonderful for burns, sunburns, wrinkles, stretch marks, and eczema. The high levels of linoleic and linolenic fatty acids in this oil help the skin speed up regeneration, while preventing the formation of scar tissue.
Tea tree, lavender, and lemon essential oils all have antimicrobial properties and can help inhibit the growth of bacteria in wounds.
To use the First Aid Stick, apply to affected skin as needed. Apply the First Aid Ointment with clean fingers. Store both products in a cool, dry place.
These amazing natural ingredients and others make the First Aid Stick and First Aid Ointment safe and effective treatments for a range of skin-related ailments. And the Small First Aid Stick makes it easy to keep these products on hand wherever you go. Keep one in your diaper bag, backpack, or purse, and you’ll always be prepared for on-the-go cuts and scrapes. Once you try the First Aid Stick and Ointment, you’ll never want to be without them again!
