Product FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

General Questions

Are your products natural?

Yes! Verefina products are 99-100% natural. We only use one synthetic ingredient—a preservative called polyaminopropyl biguanide. This paraben-free and formaldehyde-free preservative is too large to penetrate the skin or enter the bloodstream, ensuring safety while keeping products fresh.

Are your products vegan?

Most of our products are vegan, with the exception of:

  • Lip Balms (contain beeswax)
  • Rescue Balm (First Aid Ointment) (contains beeswax)
  • Burn Cream (contains lard)

Do you test on animals?

No. Verefina is a cruelty-free brand, and our products are never tested on animals.

How long do your products last?

We separate shelf life from how long products last with regular use:

Shelf Life (Unopened & Properly Stored)

  • Water-based products (cleansers, moisturizers, lotions) → Up to 1 year
  • Oil-based products (balms, serums, lip balms, deodorant creams, etc.) → Up to 2 years

How Long Products Last with Regular Use

  • Facial cleansers & moisturizers2–3 months with daily use
  • Deodorants3–4 months with daily use
  • Rescue Balm (First Aid Ointment)Varies by use
    • Large size lasts several months with regular use
    • Small size lasts a couple of months
  • Lip balmsAbout 3 months

Do your products contain preservatives?

Yes. To ensure freshness, we use polyaminopropyl biguanide, a gentle, paraben-free, and formaldehyde-free preservative. It sits on the skin’s surface but does not penetrate the skin or enter the bloodstream.

Where do Verefina's Essential Oils come from, and what is their level of quality?

Our essential oils are sourced from botanicals grown worldwide. Many factors impact quality, including soil conditions, climate, harvesting methods, and distillation techniques. We work closely with distillers to ensure our oils retain their full therapeutic properties. Unlike over-processed oils used for flavoring, our essential oils are carefully distilled to preserve their effectiveness, making them some of the highest quality available.

Facial Care FAQs

Which cleanser should I use?

Both cleansers work for all skin types, but here’s how to choose the best one for your skin:

  • Lemon Coconut Cleanser → Best for Normal to Dry Skin, provides mechanical exfoliation with jojoba beads for daily polishing.
  • Fruit Enzyme Cleanser → Best for Normal to Oily, Acne-Prone, or Mature Skin, provides chemical exfoliation with fruit acids and willow bark extract for gentle brightening.

Can I use both cleansers?

Yes! Many customers use:

  • Lemon Coconut Cleanser in the morning → Refreshes & preps the skin.
  • Fruit Enzyme Cleanser in the evening → Exfoliates & rejuvenates.
  • As an overnight treatment, the Fruit Enzyme Cleanser can be left on overnight (PM only) for enhanced brightening.

Does the Sea Buckthorn Facial Cream contain SPF?

No, but it contains natural ingredients like sea buckthorn seed oil, shea butter, pomegranate extract, and olive oil, which provide natural environmental protection. While we cannot legally claim SPF, these ingredients support your skin barrier. If you need sun protection, we recommend a mineral-based sunscreen.

Deodorant FAQs

What is the difference between Magnesium Deodorant and Moisturizing Deodorant Cream?

  • Magnesium Deodorant Stick → A low-baking soda formula that neutralizes odor at the source and glides on smoothly.
  • Moisturizing Deodorant Cream → A high-baking soda formula that provides extra-long odor protection but may not be suitable for sensitive skin.

How do I apply the Magnesium Deodorant?

  1. Roll up the stick ¼ inch and hold against the skin for a few seconds to warm.
  2. Apply 2–3 swipes—less is more.
  3. Rub it in to work it deep into the pores and prevent product transfer to clothing.

How do I apply the Moisturizing Deodorant Cream?

  1. Use less than a pea-sized amount per underarm.
  2. Apply with fingertips and massage in.
  3. Do not apply to broken or freshly shaven skin.
  4. Do not overapply—using too much can cause irritation. Less is more.

Does the deodorant help with wetness?

Our formulas contain arrowroot powder, which absorbs moisture naturally. However, they are not antiperspirants and do not stop sweating.

Many customers have reported that our Magnesium Deodorant formula slightly inhibits sweating. While it does not stop sweating entirely, customers have found they sweat less when using this formula.

My Moisturizing Deodorant Cream arrived in a liquid state. What should I do?

Shipping during hot summer months can cause your Moisturizing Deodorant Cream to arrive runny. If this happens, simply stir well with a clean spoon and place in the fridge for a couple of hours. This will return your deodorant to its normal state!

Do the lip balms contain SPF?

Are they vegan?

Do they have any tint or color?

No, they apply clear and give a natural, healthy sheen.
